Ethiopian Art in Sioux Falls
I met a very energetic and skilled ethiopian painting artist in Sioux Falls called Eyob. He is kind of popular in the city and most people know him. One of the reasons - I was told - he painted a controversial mural art on a big wall in the city and many people wanted to take it off the wall. But many other people also liked the art.The same version image of the painting - called Blue Jazz - is shown in this Photo. One of the reasons for the controversy was the existence of a state law in SD to avoid any kind of mural art. But anyway, after a lot of controversies, his paintings managed to stay in the walls of the city. The controversies where widely covered in the newspapers.
He had a premier release last Friday, september 29 in his studio. He released one of his finest paintings - The Birth Of Spirit .
The Birth Of Spirit - born from light, circles from birth into the life cycles of being human, then into the spirtual period of life after death.
Eyob also showed the rest of his works . He will also be having another show this saturday where he will be ‘painting music while making a documentary film’. I can’t wait to be there - I and my friends are already invited - Lucky us!
